Cursed "water in fuel"

My WIF light came on (1st time in over 1.5yrs) as I went to leave work today so I drained the filter - FULL of water....Got it started....Same thing again within a minute.....I pumped some fuel into the front tank from my newly purchased 5-ton and I guess I got some water with it or it's the other stuff I was burning that I had at home from an injector cup job.....I've been running on the rear tank for the last few day's and it happened right after I flipped to the front tank.....Now I'm headed outside to pump the front tank out to fill it with fresh stuff from the local gas mafia station....What a fella will go through to save a buck eh???...

21 years of ownership and 185,000 miles I've never had the "water in fuel" light come on.

Haven't siphoned in fuel from a questionable source then, I guess

I pumped the entire tank out - nasty looking and cloudy. Almost looked like it had algae in it.

I dont know what the deal is lately. It seems like the stations around here think they can cut their fuel with water because every time we've had to get fuel in our primary tanks we always end up with atleast a gallon of water in it.

Call your department of weights and measures. They are the ones that certify that a pump is pumping a gallon, when it says it is. If they are not filtering the fuel for water, and then dispensing a gallon of diesel, they are in violation and can be fined.

I'm going to idle the truck for a bit tommorow on the front tank to see if I got all the water out or not. I tried to pump the tank as dry as possible.
