I am installing my new Trans computer from Baumann eng.
I need to hook into the cruise control wires.
Coming out of the speed sensor on under the truck, the wire goes into a connector and goes from 2 to 4 wires. I am assuming this is where the Cruise sees the speed at.
which 2 of these 4 wires are for the cruise,

After looking at this, I think I am an idiot? (do not answer that one)
I think these are both speed sensors, one for 2wd, and 1 for 4wd.

So where would I hook the cruise to the speed sensor?
thanks

for the '87-'91 there is two speed sensors. The diff mounted one is for the RABS (same kind used '92-'96 for the speedo/odo/cruse/E4OD). The speedo cable mounted speed sensor is for the cruse control.

Still researching which one in fact does the E4OD shift strategy for the '89-'91 trucks.

Gotta love ford.

I have bets on the front one. I think that's it - and he's looking for the CC wire. That's the front one.

Yes, But there is a connector at the speedo housing, this is the speed sensor. There is also a connector about 1/2 way back on the trans. What is this connector for? 4X4 lamp or something? That is the side it is on...

Ok, from lookin' over wirin' diagrams, the speed sensor mounted on the speedo cable should have a dark green with white tracer and red with light blue tracer. This goes to the cruse control amplifier and then to the main computer for the E4OD shift strategy with the red/lt blue being the "ground".

So I should be able to connect this to the new trans computer speed sensor, and the gruise should work again?
I am bypassing the OEM computer.
