So my kit lacks a crossover pipe to join the up pipe to the turbo, is it possible to use the existing NA driver side crossover pipe and clamp on a flex pipe to be clamped to a ball joint clamp that goes onto the turbo up pipe?

You could do it, but I'd recommend against it. The flex pipes are usually thinner metal and rust out fairly easily. Also by just using clamps, I'd think that you stand a good chance of having an exhaust leak, causing you to have less boost.

Russ typ4 has in the past had 2 piece crossover pipes made up. I know that he's trying to find a shop to do this again. You might consider reaching out to him.
