bypass!!!!

bypass that mech!!!! I am changing my oil tommorow!! just went through the same exp and it runs so much better now!!! going to let wmo sit in clear tank just to see how much diesel I pumped in!!!! when you bypass make sure to plumb inlet and outlet together so it isnt just pumping air around you will notice that the front of the pump will spray air and fuel out of it if you dont plumb it together!

Should I leave the mechanical pump connected to the engine?
I may want to use it again in the future- will running it dry damage it?
What is a good electric pump- I am also running hot WVO and maybe WMO through it.

I cut the two electric wires running to the tanks from the stock 6 port solenoid- I thought they were for the gauge but the engine died like it didnt have fuel.- is there a pick up at the tank (could these be the wires to them?)
I didnt think that it could be the pick up pump- the gauge is not working.

I rerouted the plumbing so that the fuel is being pulled through the filter before the pump - instead of being pushed after the pump, I think this is ******* the pump but how long should it last like this.
