Finally got the time to pull the truck into the shop, had the boys pull the radiator support, grill etc.. Surveyed the situation last night, no external engine oil leaks except around the mechanical lift pump, 3 hours later I had everything ready to pull heads except for the exhaust manifolds. The boy pulled the drivers side manifold before work and I lifted the head to find a spot of missing gasket material between the sealing ring and a water port near the manifold side of the block #6 cylinder with a stain of brown on the head and the block. We will be pulling the passengers side head as soon as the boy undoes the exhaust manifold bolts and see what surprises that side holds.

Pulled the passenger head today,,, gasket looked pretty sad and deteriorated, once I cracked the bolts loose it started putting water on the floor, the drivers side stayed sealed down and needed persuasion to break the seal.

Ok questions,,, had an injector that must not have had a good seal between the copper washer and the block and the injector bore was full of carbon and when I unscrewed the injector from the head the lower part of the injector unscrewed from the top of the injector. I have a spring, what I will call a poppet, and an orfice, I don't really want to tear another apart to find out the order of assembly, anyone know the order of assembly?

Anyone have a link to torque specs and order? Can I safely rotate the engine to check all cylinder bores without tossing things out of time?

Truck is back together and no longer expelling pressure into the overflow tank. We didn't pull the engine, however we did pull the radiator support and did have a floor hoist to help handle those heavy heads for reassembly. In frame wasn't bad, only one bolt needed to remain in the head on the drivers side and there were 5 blots and 2 push rods that needed to remain in the passengers side. I will say if you don't have a hoist for the heads don't try in frame, to much risk of damaging the head gaskets.
