Idea
Pivot brakes, with limited slip. How bad of an idea is this?

Need confirmation that I'm an idiot and it will just burn up the clutches in the diff, or that it will work.

Not a good idea on a ford limited slip. A chevy gov-lock will live with one as the diff needs to be spinning to engage the limited slip. Worked great in my old chevy mud truck if I was going about 5 mph and wanted to do a tight turn. Anything faster and it would break something. I learned this the hard way trying to show off when I was in my teens and ended up walking home to get another truck to rescue the one I just broke. A ford limited slip uses a weird shaped heavy spring to put tension on the clutch discs. It's always in limited slip mode.
