chirping pulley

High all, I have a 1993 F350 7.3 turbo with 75000 miles on it. One of the pulleys has a chirping sound. The problem is that there are to many pulleys and I do not know were to start. Any Ideas. Thanks

When does it make the chirping sound?

When I first got mine it liked to "squeal" whenever you tapped the throttle or were really getting on it, a new belt fixed that. I guess it was just slipping.

One way of checking this is to remove the belt and spin the pulley's you can by hand (Obviousley you can't spin the crank pulley by hand) to see if they make any noise or show any warping or bearing problems. I am betting that you may have a belt issue or these trucks are famous for wearing out the tensioner and idler pulley. Look at your tensioner pulley at idle and see if it is bouncing around a lot. If it is, more then likely the spring on the tensioner pulley is worn out. When the tensioner spring is worn out, it put's slack in the belt and the belt can start to slip on the other pulleys and make a sqeaking sound because it is not tight enough. Check you belt for glazing and wear as well.

had the same problem on the 99, put a new ford belt on and that solved the problem

I'd bet a new belt will fix it. Seems like a belt only lasts me 2 years max before they stretch and start making noise. Another thing you can try is take the belt off turn it inside out and check for little tiny sand particles inbedded in the 'v's in the belt. Use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry them out.
