I've developed a leak, doesnt look like its at return lines fuel filter, etc and theres no water sep (yet )

starts great if driven daily, gets harder to start if it sits for over a day or more. Got real hard to start after a month so... any clues on where to look?

Any UV reactive agent i could add to the fuel or any other tricks?

Also when I drive it spots diesel on the ground not much but its definitely diesel and definitely me (leaves a trail of rainbow drops in rain, just drops in dry conditions that smell of diesel LOL). Maybe the return fuel line after the injectors that heads to the tank?

Take a look at the lift pump under the vacuum pump. If its wet you probably have a diaphram leak.... As for a return line leaking under the rig I might say to get under there and look around... What side of the engine or truck do you see the trail of drops coming from... that may help you trace down whats leaking... Getting it fixed will improve your fuel mileage too...:sly;Sweet

Also look at the IP and the fuel return block on the back of the driver's side of the intake. The IP seals can develop leaks with time, and the fuel return block can be a hard place to see fuel leaking. Both will lead to fuel leaking through the valley pan drain and down the back of the motor.

I need to get a creeper so i can sneak under it, otherwise I would've.

Two good points I forgot about, I am pretty sure I have a slow leak on the IP as the block is or was wet (need to double check).

Good idea on the lift pump too I spaced it, didn't think about the ******.

The kicker is I cant see any dripping when it sits other than oil... if there is a leak when sitting it evaporates or i just dont see it which if true means theres a crack opening when its running

Fuel return block is where all the injector return lines wind up before going to the tank right?

Thanks guys:thumbsup:

If the return kit is leakin will tightening the injectors more stop the leaks?

I tightened the last one on the passenger side and it seemed to stop leaking... I gotta dig a wrench out for a few others. Started a bit better after that leaker dried up. a few are very lightly damp and one i can see bubblin on driver side. this one thats stopped was drizzling.

I relocated the glowplug relay and controller and plate to the firewall so I can actually see the 2 passenger side return line stuff now ;Sweet

I have a feeling I didn't tighten the fuel nuts down enough, some went on smooth as butter others hard as hell (i think corrosiion in the threads :dunno)

I lubed the orings and the olives popped on nicely, I used a socket to push 'em down all the way. Return hose is fine except 1 clamp was crooked so that was easy.

First time doing it and my back was bad so my patience was low, injectors came out and fresh went in no problem but fighting with the last two fuel lines was the hard part. Like I said I loosened the packs and made sure it looked like it wen t on straight but every time it was a bear to get on there. I think they had corrosion in the threads but I dont know what i would chase em with?

I tightened the packs back down so dont worry no cracked fuel lines for me, I just wanted to see if you guys thought it was crossthreading still or corroded/clogged threads on the fuel lines cause the one we thought was crossthreaded stopped leaking when i pushed harder
