change heater core on 86

A friend of mine has a 86 f-250. The heater core is bad, so he has asked for help to change it. (shop said to remove the dash)
What all is involved with this.
No A/C on his truck, and a 4 speed.

Jerry, that article's for trucks with factory a/c.

Non a/c trucks have a completely different heater core setup...and, IIRC, it's a very involved process to get a non a/c heater core out. I don't recall the procedure (it's in my FSM which is packed away, and I've never done one before since my truck has a/c ), but I think either the dash or the ducting on the engine compartment side have to come out.
