I installed two of these. Yeah they are manual and I need to open the Hood. But all winter, they are turned on.

I blew the Heater core late one night cutting through the Farm land south of Sacramento. (anything to avoid Sacramento)
Good thing I had my tool bag with 2 6" Vice grips to squeeze off the 2 hoses.

Good thing about these manual shut offs in a case like this.
