I'm looking for pics of where ya'll bricknose owners have your CB's or mobile HAM units mounted in your trucks. Mine is a 5 speed 4wd so I'm a bit limited on space. I've also got a factory cupholder that attaches to the front of the seat. Thanks in advance for the pics. My Northstar is as wide as a Connex and Galaxy so it's a bit more of a pain to mount it.

My dads farm truck was a 87 6.9 4x4 and we had a bail spear mounted down there and yes there isn't much room. So we had to put it next to the glove box. Then we had a 91 farm truck and we put it up on the roof and the 87 was a 4 speed and the 91 was a 5 speed both were 4x4s srry don't have any pics hope this helps.

Yea I've got a few buds with the shelf-it's but I don't like the look of them in the trucks. I was thinking of modifying my seat somehow. I've got the Bench seat with the fold out armrest and was thinking of mounting it into the area the armrest sits when it's in its upright position....

I braced mine in the middle (using the visor hook mounts) and like it much better. With the 1 ton suspension and add a leafs in the front, I was a little worried that the cb might end up in my lap. I'm going to strip my shelf and paint it or polish it. The thing I don't like about it is the cheesy covering.

I have mine mounted on the dash above the heater controls. It seems to be a good spot. I just wish it were a better unit.

I thought about that but heat kills a radio. I still may do that though... If you're interested I've got an older Cobra 29 LTD Classic gathering dust...You'd have to run an external mic though. PM me if interested.

Yea, one of my buds had his in his truck barely a week when the covering started to peel and bubble.

This is about my tenth one in different vehicles, this is the first one that started to peel and I have to say, it looks much better underneath! :)

I agree...and they are handy but it makes me feel like the roof is closer to my head than it really is....

Yeah, it looked real close when I dove off into what turned out to be a pond in the middle of freaking nowhere at deer camp, of course, having the quad on the trailer behind me made me much braver! lol

After bouncing around so much I knocked the transfer out of 4X4 and not knowing it, I didn't hit my head, but sure felt close! Once I figured out I wasn't in 4X4, it didn't take long to clear the mud out of the way!

my dad found this guy complete in the back of a used jeep that got traded in. It was bran new never installed and even had the antenna. Call me stupid but I have no idea how to use it :dunno I can turn it on and go through the 40 channels but no one is ever there. I figure at the least i can use it at pismo or when backing up the trailer with a spotter. :dunno

thats what I have. how do you like it? I cant ever hear both halfs of a conversation

Wel, I can't really tell ya. It would be good if I wouldn't have gotten screwed over on the deal. It works but the squelch control has to be in just the exact right spot or no go and it will just randomly start scanning the weather channel cookoo:dunno. Other than that I like it, would rather have the 29LTD though ;Sweet
