The school where I got my welder and my boat, now is selling a bus. its an 84 passenger bus, Cat V8 engine 5sp Auto and I wonder what its worth?

Can that engine be used in a PU or Bronco?

In my experience buses don't have a lot of value once they are unfit for "bus" service. I ended up cutting one up after the best offer I got was $500. I saved the very front with the motor and trans because those were worth more to me than anything else.

I'd value the bus at the drivetrain plus a few hundred.

Dont expect much out of the trans, buses stop frequently and thus wear trannys out FAST.
But that CAT V8 is a screamer if its the same V8 CAT that Im thinking about.

Hi in the Cascades, Nearly- Redmond,Oregon
Prolly a 3208 or a 3208T. The 3126 is a 7.2 lite 6 banger.
What will one of these 3208 or 3126 weigh?
Our IDI weigh round 900-1100# with goodies on 'em don't they? IIRC, least that's #'s stick in my mind.
Seems like I saw somewhere other day a wt# of round 1400# for one of the T444 or "T***" something whatever # it is...the bigger Navistar engine that usually go the 2-3Ton rigs???
Wish I could remember stuff!!! Was gonna write some of those #'s down, didn't do it, now I don't even know if I really saw some of those #'s, or if it was all just a dream....

Anybody know some of these wt's???

Arent Cat 3208 at 10.4 liter engine? I thought I saw somewhere that is what its displacment is. I do know that there have been a couple of people that have stuffed them into a 1-ton (never seen one, just heard people have), and they had to do some serious mods to get it to fit. So I would highly doubt that a Bronco could support one of those things.

CAT 3208 is a 10.4 liter 636 CID engine, 4.5" bore, 5.0" stroke. IIRC it weighs 1400 -1600 lbs but I can't find the spec sheet I had on it right now.

CAT 3126 and C7 engines are 7.2 liter 441 CID inline 6 engines, bore 4.33", stroke 5.00" weight 1425 lbs
