I can't decide which way I wan't to go with my truck. It's Flame Red and I'm about to have orange/yellow/white flames outlined in lime green painted on it. I don't know which way I want to go with wheels and tires. I would like to get other people's thoughts. This is a dually, BTW.

Option 1: 6" Kelderman Lift
19.5"x7.5" Alcoa wheels with adapters (10 lug)
285/70-19.5 tires

Option 2: 6" Kelderman Lift
17"x6" wheels (either stock or Eagle)
35/12.5-17 tires (BFG Mud's, Super Swamper or equivilent)

Option 1 is obviously more expensive, but I get more life form the tires and really have no need to carry a spare.

The truck will not see much, if any, off-roading. I bought it with the intention of building more of a show truck than a work truck. I'm looking at buying an American Ironhorse Texas Chopper next year that will have a paint scheme that will match the truck. I want the combo to look good rolling down the road.

Everyday I wake up my thoughts on the above change. I'll probably end up going with whatever's on my mind the day I pull the trigger and buy wheels and tires. What's everyone elses thoughts.

17" BFG's are cheap right now, but that will eventually change for the worse. 19.5's aren't cheap now, and haven't been but you get like 2 to 3 times the mileage!

I guess Option 1 would look something like this. This is one of Kelderman Mfg.'s SEMA show trucks. It is running 22.5's. I would use 19.5's with a tire with more sidewall. This truck has 225/70-22.5 and I would use 285/70-19.5.

option#1 with 19.5's ...there is something about big wheels on a light truck running OTR tires that gets me drooling!

Man both those options look good.

Go with the 19.5s with the most aggressive tread you can find. :yell:

Got kids and quads, so I couldn't afford either one :(

But..... I have always thought that 19.5's look :cool

That would be my choice.

I had 19.5's on my 98 Dodge 3500 and I sold them when I bought a 01 F250. Now I have a dually again and wish I still had them. I found a place where I can get the whole setup for about 3500.

I have the Rickson 19.5/70x 285's and a 2.5 leveling kit in the front, tires are Yokohama ty303's. they are 35.2" tall, I am very happy with what they have done for me and would do it all over again, I will get over 100k out of these.

Breaks, I think the truck has in the neighborhood of 6-8". Kelderman has a lift kit up to 6" off the shelf, but can go higher on a custom order. I think I would stick to 6". I really want the Kelderman setup, but it's a large chunk of change compared to a Superlift or Skyjacker

Whitmore, your truck was one I studied while trying to decide tire size. I was hoping that 285's would measure out a little taller. I think some tire mfg's have 305 and 315 in 19.5's. I'll have to look around more.

6'' kewl , I did a 6'' on my trk last yr w/ 285/75/16 = 33x12 on a dullie, she's pretty wide about 2-2.5'' past the flares
I really like the look of the 22.5 '' but might have to settle for 20''
since I have to be runnin some kind of mudder
