Can anyone tell for sure if my wheels will fit?

Quick question that surely someone knows the answer to.
I am about ready to buy new wheels. American Racing ar-23 16x8. I intend to put bfgoodrich t/a's 285-75-16 rubbers around them. Will they fit without problems, and without lift?
1994 turbo IDI, single cab, zf5, 4x4.

they should fit fine. thats about the size mine came with stock (if not the size it came with) make sure the bolt pattern on the rims is Pre Powerstroke. before 99 just about all 8 lug patterns were interchangable then things started getting weird with metric patterns so you couldnt use dodge rims on a chevy truck and such.

May have to shim your bumper or trim a lil bit. My buddy has 285's on 7" wheels and has an add-a-leaf to have them clear but he also has a plow

yea you can fit them without modification, some people get away with as big as 35s stock with a little trimming. as long as they are 8x6.5 or 8x135mm bolt pattern(that metric pattern is the same) you cannot run wheels for a 99+ ford they are 8x170mm(superduties are the only ones to run this pattern)

is your truck a 250 or 350? cuz the 350s are a lot higher than the 250s. i am getting the same size tires for my truck but stock wheels. they are supposed to fit with out an add-a-leaf up front. i wish i had a 350 cuz id be putting 315-75s on!

315's wouln't fit on a 350. 305's just fit on stock wheels

my uncle has 36's on his 86 no lift just took stock bumper off and made him one with a winch on it

315's wouln't fit on a 350. 305's just fit on stock wheels

I ran 315's on my '88 F250 (stock) and now on my '85 F350 without any issues. My '88 had a stock bumper at first and it worked fine, but I ended up changing it to a custom bumper when I installed the winch.

I have 285's on 16" American Racing rims on my 86 and they look tiny on it, wish I'd have gone bigger but they where the biggest mud tire Farm and Fleet carried at the time.

I just put 285's on my truck and I had to cut the bottom back corners off the front bumper.

I think my front leaves may be sagging a little bit, though.

i kinda think the 92-97 body style just has less room, by brother had a 94 bronco he lifted 4" and had to clearance the bumper in the same spot for a set of 33s.

+1 on that, the 92-97s definitely have less room than the previous body style. I have 285s on my truck before and after the 2" body lift, they cleared both ways but did rub a little bit on the bumper bottoms when backing up prior to the add-a-leaf.
