Full-floater
I put a different (used) BW 1356 T-case in my 90 idi two years ago as the shift fork broke in my original.
This t-case that I now use always grinds in and out of 4LO, the shift linkage is not bent, didn't want to drop the case again and tear into it so I just shut the engine off when I put it into LO now and don't worry about it...she don't grind that way.
Last time I was in 4LO, I shifted out when I was out of that steep terrain but left the hubs locked as I was going to be in 4X again in a few miles. But with the T-case in 2WD and the hubs locked I heard a loud clicking noise as the front driveshaft still spun; the noise was very regular. With the truck off and hubs unlocked and t-case in 2WD I can spin the front driveshaft by hand and hear and feel that clicking. Almost sounds like there is a bearing half apart in the T-case. Anyone know what it might be??? Im afraid to put it in 4X again to see if it still works in case I really screw it up.
It doesn't ever get abused so I was not by any means hot rodding around when the damage occured.
