I have figured out, I think, that in 1994 the brake rotor was thicker then in 1995. Has anybody put the thicker rotors on a newer truck? Where is a good place to buy rotors and pads?

iirc there was a change between those years. The offset is different. Get mine at Azone, NAPA is good also. There is about 3 price ranges. Last pads I got from NAPA were $144 for the set, was traveling in Alaska so asked for the best, don't see any advantage in braking, maybe just last longer. Burned up the pads and rotors when I lost my trailer brakes down a 9% grade in the Yukon.

The 95+ trucks use a larger diameter rotor, the older stuff won't swap(offset is different,) and would be a downgrade in brake performance.

Not sure about your year but Performance Friction 2 piece rotors are the only way to go on my 2k. I went through rotors like crazy but the 2 piece rotors have been holding up well. Not cheap though.
