Boost gauge and filter minder???

I have 1 unused "port" on the Banks intake hat. Can it be teed off to use a filter minder and a boost gauge? I have neither in my truck yet. The unused "port" is the 1 that my finger is pointing at in the pic.

No idea what a filter minder is, but I have the Banks kit in mine and yes, that port is meant to plumb a line for a boost gauge. I have Banks's 0-15psi in mine. Works great!

Yes you can tee off a port. the t won't affect readings. However, doesn't a filter minder operate off vacuum? If so it should go between your filter and your turbo

What he said. A filter minder should be before the turbo.

I've heard before that filter minders aren't very reliable indicators and are generally more trouble than they're worth, but I haven't had any direct experience with one. My turbo kit came with a port for a filter minder, but after hearing that, I just plugged it

Its just as posted above. Try it and reposrt back with results. Just don't Tee into that single port on the Banks housing. Thats only going to show you boost positive perssure and not vacuum which comes from a dirty filter.

While i think they are cool. On all our semis that we run and other farm equipment. 9 times out of 10 they suck down to one spot and stay there the entire time. It seemed like our filter PM was often enough that the filter minders were pretty much useless. I personally think that common sense prevails over a filter minder.

Boost gauge only it is then. I knew that the filter minder operated off a vacuum but the brain fart I had made me forget. Thanks for snapping me back to reality.
