The transmission overdrive light on the dash on my 1990 is blinking and shifts hard. what is the fix?

The tranny is in HP (limp) mode.There are codes in the TCM that need to be pulled. Retrieve the code, they will tell you what to attack.
Any garage or tranny shop can pull the codes for you.
Tack sensor, VSS, and the TPS are the common failure parts on these trucks.
