I don't know if it is right or not, but I welded aluminized exhaust for an old s10 3 years ago with a stick and 1/16 electrodes. . . pretty easy and CHEAP!!

It doesnt take any special MIG wire to weld aluminized steel does it?
I didn't have any problems with my little flux core gassless wire welder so gitrdone!;Sweet

Ya know I've been contemplating a 5" tip but I'm gonna see how the 4" holds up for now bieng right directly behind the duallies. Might be a good reason to finally get some mud flaps and anti-sail diamond plate on em to protect that pipe cause it's really close to the tires.:puke:

welding aluminized

Thanks for the site Tonkadoctor, it will come in handy when I get a turbo in the next couple of weeks. It doesnt take any special MIG wire to weld aluminized steel does it?

aluminized is a coating.
under it it si usually steel.
I welded mine with standare mig wire.
You have to grind the coating off to weld it best.
