Banks turbo install question

The first question, I am sure more will follow.

On the E4OD, do you have to drain transmission before swapping the dip stick tube? The instructions don't mention draining it and I would rather not unless necessary, but at the same time I don't need an oily surprise.

I just installed my Banks Kit about a month ago. I have a C-6 & didn't drain the tranny. Just unbloted the old one, popped it out & put the new one in. Simple as that. Good luck with the install.

I would guess you don't have to, i don't think oil comes out of the tranny and the dip stick comes apart about 4" above where it goes into the tranny.

I missed that when I first looked at it. I did get it swapped out yesterday. Got to the point of bending the body seam and loosely bolting in the "turbine inlet casting". However, I am missing the one of the turbine inlet casting braces and missed placed the new glow plug heat shield. I will be calling Banks.

Not sure if I bent the lip enough or not, but at this point if I need more I will be buying hockey pucks and new body to frame bolts next week.
