ats non wastegate how much boost

im puttin my ats non-wastegated turbo on my truck this weekend and i was wondering how much boost i can push i already have head studs im just wonderin was save to push with the stock bottom end and what not

Hahaha, I have 5400 miles on my Banks doing a max of 22psi. Im still on stock headbolts too. I would say these bottom ends are pretty stout.

The most I've seen an 088 boost to was around 15psi--and thats with a high flow intake and 4" exhaust. I don't think you will have any problems with longevity if you keep your temps withing reason EDIT: Not sure on head gaskets. If they are old you may be taking a risk

na all new top end pretty much the only thing i havent changed on my eniter motor in and out is the bottom end

If you want to be safe like most peopl do run between 8-10 no more than 12

Nothing you can throw at these motors will hurt the bottom ends... If they are in good shape before you throw the kitchen sink at it. 6.9 head bolts are the weak link on those motors. Most will not push them but some will... History has told us they need to be upgraded to studs for the better holding power. Its good to read that someone is pushing 22 lbs with stock head bolts. I wont challange that for what it is. I know it wont last 300,000 miles because of the history here... How long will it last I have no idea. A top fuel motor lasts 1/4 mile and gets rebuilt. Surely its impressive reading how well the pickle is running after 5400 miles on the open road without any major issues. Lots of readers are looking closely at this and thinking about doing the same. Everyone wants more hp but they also want the motor to last 300,000 plus miles getting 20 plus mpg. Usually you get one or the other. High mileage or high horsepower but not both... Time will determine what you get on your builds...

They do. It's just that it can take a few years to find out. I generally state that they are good for about a decade. That's been my experience. My truck is 28, and I've changed them twice. Next time they will be studs.
