OK, you guys are scaring me. I been using my 83 GMC S-15 for the last 17 years to do what I needed. So it was time to trade up to something that could haul heavier loads. I'll never own a truck as cheap as that thing is to maintain. Anyway I picked up a 90 F350 crew cab. Been setting since 2004. So far I have the transmission out, (flywheel cratered). Needs slave and master cylinder and unknown brake work, but it does run, (needs glow plug work). I will probably keep this truck till I die, unless the govermant stops me. Been working the bugs out here and there. I hope I don't have to put a lot of money into it, (I don't have a lot). I know $700 to rebuild an injection pump isn't much for a lot of you guys, but for me it means a truck down for quite some time. The good thing is it probably won't get 4,000 miles a year. I know the parts for these trucks are way cheaper then the new trucks, but compaired to my old 2.8 liter V6, I'm looking at a higher budget in fuel, oil, and parts. I'm just glad there is this board so I can get help from others who know more then I.

The only thing bad about sinking way to much money in a veichle is if it ever gets totaled you wont recoup all the money put into it . but its your veichle and if you fix it up the way you like and it makes you happy more power to you.

Yea, how many of us have sweated and bled and paid out the *** for the parts to get something right on our truck. It is worth it when you get done, wash your hands and take that ever satisfying test ride in your newly improved rig.

I think that the only time putting alot of work into a vehicle increases it's value is if you do some good bodywork and nice paint.

I think the only time putting a lot of work into a truck increases it's value is when you pay $2,500 for it, and it earns you $ 52,000 a year. Well at least before obamanomics anyway lol

Eariler this week talked to a guy that owns a machine shop and he has a nice truck maybe for sale. 94 ext cab F250, black, no rust, has a IP that was rebuilt with some extras in it to go faster, more power etc. He thought of asking $10000, I told him he'd probably get that. But he wasn't sure of selling it yet, uses for camping and doesn't go camping as much any more.
I know hard to say without seeing it, what do you guys think on price??

I think you OVER exaggerated quite a bit. How many miles could you possibly put on a day? 500? which come out to 3000 a week and 12,000 a month, and 72,000 in 6 months. And i highly doubt you are even putting 500 miles a day on doing local runs. hell, I was doing 500 a day making 2 stops in my pete and I was on the road for about 12-14 hours day

a buddy of mine was talking about that the other day. from what i could find no one around here buys them. any big companys that you recomend?
