Well, dang. Looks like lockup issue is due to a faulty TPS/FIPL.

Hmm, it is old and black, so I shouldn't be surprised.

Of course, that's external to the trans, and not covered by the trans warranty.

Ah, well.

Yupyup.... a couple hundred bucks later for the trans shop to replace the TPS and set it, and she's back in my hands.

Running great, BTW! :D

Hoping to get to some body work during this warm weather. Lots of gutter rust to treat out. :(

Thanks much, BrandonMag.

Late-body (92-94) IDI vans are extremely rare, even in here in almost-no-rust country, and I'm quite in love with this one.

This old girl apparently played in the snow over the years, thus the gutter rust. But she should last a good long time.

Wish I could find a good trans shop down here in my neck of the woods. Had a rec for a shop from my old mechanic, they said my trans on my last ford was bad, dropping metal everywhere and might go a couple of months if lucky. That was a year and a half ago. I might have had them replace it at the time, but luckily for me I had no money at the time. My new old truck seems like it might need some transmission looking after...
