Air clean lid modification?

I accidently left my intake tube off after working on the truck and noticed a big deiference.

I cut the soup bowl off and removed the little baffle at the intake and it didn't seem to do as much as just removing the intake tube

Well it was raining today so I pulled the truck in & did the soup bowl delete & also got rid of that cover plate in the pan. I have to admit it's not night & day & it didn't drop my EGTs 300* but I can feel a diffrence in the power. Overall I'd say it was well worth my time.

If nothing else, it makes servicing the air filter easier.
