A/C leak detector dye for fuel systems?

I've been having a persistent air leak in my fuel system lately.

I was wondering if one of those leak detection kits to look for oil or refridgerant leaks would be safe to use on the fuel system?

I'm no hvac expert but I once had my freon dyed to locate a leak. They use a special light and colored glasses to see the leaks. I think the dye is designed to mix with freon not fuel. For air leaks in your fuel system...fill an atomizer bottle with soapy water and spray. The leak will be bubbly.
