And 134 is less effective than 12, than 502, than ammonia. Still it's the safest. But it requires a whole new curve when it comes to setting up superheat, etc... I've been doing this a long enough time, and if the cans of 134 were available in the stores than you can work on your own "depleted" system without a special license. But you always need to evacuate the system unless you live in a vacuum and there is NO chance of any moisture in the system to screw things up.
Anyway the original question was on the oil. Clean out your condenser, evaporator, and lines while replacing the accumulator and add the oil. Vac the system down for a while to the lowest reading you can (depending on altitude) and check it's integrity by letting sit on the gauges for a while. Then, you can replace the refrigerant.
