i'm going by the description.....how old is the CPS?
Sorry about the vid.can figure out how to change it.
Anyways like i said only hot at idle it sounds like it loses all electrical power for a second and catches before the motors shuts completely off.cant give it any throttle.it just sits there trying to rev and smoking.
Swapped in a known good idm.
I changed cps this morning.now it wont even start.smokes like crazy out the tailpipe.itll start on ether but will not run on its own.
Im trying to dump this thing for a thousand bux but its gotta atleast run in order to sell it.

Check the uvch.
Try unplugging the icp sensor.
Other than that, I would say IPR itself or orings, or the injector orings.
Another thing to check is the engine harness where it crosses the valve cover.

Stuck a used cps i found in the junk drawer in it.seems to be perfectly fine now
