so I got the head off. the spring plate that holds the lifter guides broke. anyone know where I can get one? I noticed a lot of oil coming from the exhaust port on #7 cylinder. it was the intake pushrod that broke on #7. is that something I should be concerned of? I thought maybe since the intake valve wasn't opening it might have been sucking oil in somehow?

I was looking around but cant really tell why the pushrod would have broken. the piece that broke I guess must have tumbled down in the oil pan. anyone have ideas?

this is the plate that holds down the lifter guides.

Apparently no one makes them.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/222237148575

that piece is fine, its what holds that down that's broken. the odd thing is I have a spare 97 motor and it seems on that year they got rid of the spring plate and just bolted the guides to the block.

I have a 96 I'm trying to sell, worse comes to worse I'll pull it apart and send you that hold down. Id just rather get rid of the whole engine at once...
Somehow no one is interested in a complete running engine for $400....
