This is why it is recommended to replace ip and injectors at the same time, with fresh injectors the ip has to work a lot harder.

When you replace the pump make sure you replace that little rubber o ring on the inlet to the pump. I didn't and had to replace that new pump. Just a heads up that I wish I had thought of. Sucks when a less than a dollar part ends up costing you several hundred dollars. Oh well learn from your mistakes and pass that knowledge on.

I replaced my injectors as well. advanced it a little bit until the smoke cleared. 1 of the new injectors was stuck open causing a knocking sound. Is it really critical to replace the IP if I can just advance the timing a little bit? The idle is good. No misfires or anything. The only sound Im hearing is lifter noise.
