new to me f350
Is there a way to put the whole 93 front clip on to a 87 truck?
I am meaning everything from the doors forward.
I am meaning everything from the doors forward.
Why's that? Is there an inherent advantage to the brick-nose headlight bulb, or is that to eliminate the wiring issue? Also use the 87 headlight bulbs.
My reason is I want the 93 headlights and to me they just look better.

I know not everyone likes the look of the 93+ trucks but I do and with me wanting to turn it into my work truck I want the better lights so I can see better.
Look at it this way 10,000 lbs 60 mph pennsylvania back roads I want some lights there roads are crazy sometimes.
That will be normal for me hauling all over the us doing hot shot work.

Not trying to be a smart-aleck; just hoping to learn something new...thanks![]()
Agreed completely! I've always liked the brick-nose dash the best (it looks nicer, has back-lit gauges unlike the slant-nose dash, and the plastic holds up exponentially better than the OBS dash), but I prefer the OBS front clip. I think it looks nicer from an aesthetic standpoint, and you have a few headlight assembly upgrade options, and you also have more space for an intercoolerI don't mind the looks of the 92-97 Fords at all. I happen to prefer the 87-91 dash layout as they are most reminiscent of the dent side trucks. The only Ford I could say I really do not care for looks wise is the 97-03 F150's. They are just wretched and I don't like the fact that they went to a arm 4wd front ends too.
The fact that you are up grading your front end for looks AND the functionality of a better headlight system earns much more respect. You will have the best of both worlds, a better front clip and the better dash layout.![]()

Thank you Al9007 and 9004 bulbs have different physcal layout inside one has elements Stacked horizontally (=) the other has them stacked inline vertically (|)
There are subtle differences that prevent either from being inserted into the wrong housing....YOU CAN mod them to work but why...why not just use the correct bulb...designed for the housing it's in?
Electrically they WIRE in differently where Ground and LB+ and HB+ come in to the socket!
As for advantage...Well newer bulb for OBS has a slightly higher wattage rating!
