92-96 clear headlights?

Not sure whether they'll help or not. It'd be nice to see a set of lights with the European-spec lens pattern. I have a set of Euro lenses on both my truck and on my M-B (that use H4 bulbs), and it's night-and-day compared to the DOT spec lenses, even with stock-wattage bulbs. I have the ability to put higher-wattage bulbs in, but I want to do the relay mod first...

It could be worse; it looks like there aren't ANY aftermarket headlight options for the '87-'91 trucks

Those look alot like what is in mine. I've never been real happy with the light pattern they put out, more scattered than stock.

A while ago there was an ebay ad for headlights with the clear turning lenses....they wernt euro lenses, but still a rare find for me!

Have not tried Ford ones, but had a set of the el-cheapos on a Ram and I agree, pattern sucked. Worse than stock...

I would love to get a set of E code lenses for my truck. I got a set for one of our cars after wife.gov nailed a deer with it and the difference is like night and day. THose things are nice, they throw a brighter beem where you need it, on the road and they don't blind oncoming drivers, and they throw a heck of an extra beam off into the woods on the shoulder so bambi can't sneek up on you

yeah are deer are small it the bear's and moose im lookin out for but i'm goin to give these a try and see want there like with h.i.d.'s

Those look real similar to what BJ bought a few years ago. I don't remember him talking badly of them? Maybe he'll chime in here and give a review.
I know I bought new lights, corners and all and bought the more expensive bulbs and shooooo weeee....along with the "whiter brighter headlight mod" it is awesome!!

I got them but I got the smoked lenses and they came with the turn and side marker lights also. I think I paid $60 but i looked and looked and looked. I have had some flac from the saftey inspect guys about the tint on my tail lights but they never noticed the tint on the headlight/turn/markers becuase it is in the glass not a film. I am color blind so night driving is a bit challenging any ways but I didnt notice any change from my foggy stockers but again my are smoked so thats probably why. Be sure to post how you like the HID and what kit you used. I am thinking of going that route.

I'm sorry to preach, but please do everyone who shares the road with you a favor by reading this before going through with an HID "conversion".

Thank you again, sorry to be a pain about this, but I spend a lot of time on the road and see (and get blinded) by these conversions all the time...it's one of my big pet peeves.

Amen to that! I've got E-codes on both my truck and my M-B...some of the best $$ I've spent. I'd say that the DOT could stand to learn from the Europeans, but some new DOT-legal vehicles are being equipped with the Euro-spec light pattern now, so I guess they DID learn something You know, I recall seeing a thread here way back when that showed a brick-nose truck that had been exported to Australia that had different trim on the front end to hold H6054 sealed-beams. If it's at all possible to find (or make) a kit that can get sealed-beam assemblies mounted on a brick-nose, it'd be pretty easy to convert to E-codes...especially if they're H6054 E-codes, since I already have the housings

Very good point Warden... HID lamps MUST match an HID optics unit.

The focal point of the light is very different between standard halogen lamps and HID lamps.

HID retrofits in a stock (or similar) optics head is definately a bad idea.

i was manely thinkin HID's cuz there blue and that helps with the snow alot. i most likely will just go with a good blue light for it. we really only need are head lights half the year up here(3 hours of darkness in the summer and 4 hours of daylight in the winter). i'm goin with a set of 6'' driving lights on my bumper to. and i have fog lights in the bumper

The blue doesn't help with the snow. It actually hampers Your vision.

Do the headlight relay mod. It improves light output more than any available lens will.
