I have an 84 jetta 1.6 td with 148k with a 5 sp tranny.
I bought it a few years ago and ran it around until the injection pump started leaking. I also found that the intermediate shaft bearing was worn as well causing low oil pressure once the motor was warmed up. I havent started it for about 6 months, but it did start right up first hit of the key until the Ip started leaking and losing prime.
I paid 300 bucks for the oil pump(didnt need), intermediate bearings, and bosch IP reseal kit.
The car itself is in good condition and still has the original r12 ac (cold). I ran it around for quite awhile and was getting upwards of 43 mpg and had no problem keeping up with traffic.
It has a sun roof, but everything else is manually controlled.
I paid 2200 for a a few years ago with the intentions of driving it to school, but I need a truck and the car needs to go.
It comes with all the parts to fix it($300) as well as the bently repair manual($50).
Id like to get 800 obo,
If there is any interest Ill get pictures
