7.3 push rods

When I pulled the push rods on this donor engine they were not all installed the proper direction (copper colored end up) should I put them back the way they came out or should I turn the the proper way when I put it back together?

You need to check and make sure the end is nice and round, if so install them with the copper up . If they are pointed need to install new ones as they will not allow the rocker arms and valves to be oiled correctly. You can also check this by placing the push rod into the rocker arm and blow through it, should be able to in any position like it would work in the engine, if not replace.

I will check for flow through the centers, most of the copper color is gone on the rods where they contact but they all looked very round and i didn't see any that looked out of shape.
