I just replaced a worn out injector pump and while I was priming it I had good compression and good hard cranks. Halfway through the first crank after priming the motor I lost compression all exhaust quit coming out the tail pipe and proceeded to start spitting diesel fumes out my turbo intake. I have checked the valves, rocker arms and the timing marks of the injector pump are lined up. For some reason the exhaust side of the motor has like plugged up and won’t allow air or fuel in creating a back pressure. Is it possible for the exhaust side of the turbo to plug up? I took off the muffler and still have no flow out the pipes.

Sounds like the timing is off. Did you remove the timing gear cover when you removed the pump?

Turn more towards passenger side until it fires & runs. The mark on the newer pump doesn't mean a lot
