Wow dude you went from "not gonna go turbo" to "maybe supercharger or PSD turbo" to "just bought a turbo kit" in an amazingly short time! LOL LOL

Now you might want to research upgrades to that turbo kit prior to install.... like the larger exhaust housing and full-round downpipe, etc., as well as upgrades by typ4 or mel as funds and craziness allows! LOL

*exciting update* just scored a stock ats turbo off a 94 idi ($400!)... its gonna need some tlc but owner says it spins and has little to no slack! thank you to everyone in the thread its been a pleasure!

now you either need to send that turbo to Russ, or exchange it with Mel.

the average person says " little to no slack"

people that can eyeball .005" will tell you that its sloppier than a Taiwanese *****.

either or, the choice is yours.

Typ4 rebuilt mine, and installed a WW2, i also purchased updated leak free castings.
he does take his time with them, but you will have an awesome product once it gets back.

Mel will send you a turbo, in exchange for your core, not certain if he has the castings as well.

the ATS is known for up pipe leaks, and these castings i speak of fixes this.

you must know if you have an aftermarket 093 or an OEM unit.
OEM has a v-band clamp on the down pipe.
aftermarket is a slipfit for the down pipe.
both ATS garrett turbos are damn near identical besides the down pipe connection.

Make sure to get all the small parts. There are a few little items that are essential. Someone else will chime in with what those are. If you are pulling it off is the best way to get everything. Good luck.
