6.9 rings

Hi All,

I have a 6.9 that i'm rebuilding and need some .040. It has 6 cylinders that are already .030 over and just need a hone job. I need to punch the other 2 out to .040 and need rings. I was able to buy the 2 pistons but cant fine single sets of rings that are .040. Anybody know where to buy? I also have one crank journal that that needs to be turned and having a hard time finding one bearing.. Thanks

Wow... I'm not able to say much bout this.. Any others have an idea...

Mismatched cylinder bores is not a good idea..... Can't think of anywhere that says in black and white the world will end if you do this, but it's never done - going to have balance issues among other things.

I do have a NOS set of 0.040" over rings that I'd sell though.

try getting a machine shop to do less than a half ass job.

In reality the money you think you save will actually bite you later.

do it right and it will give you better service with less confusion.

Its not half ass. The .040 over are the same weight as .030 , and wont run different with a .010 difference . Even Cummins states you can bore their engines with different sizes if needed.. This is not an exact science.
