Thats smoking cheap!

That's smoking cheap! I work at a radiator shop in Hesperia,CA. We no longer dip them but we do rod them out. That's a $200+ rod out! $50 of it is just the cost of solder.
solder as it's so heavily regulated here it costs us a bunch just for the roll of solder. There are many radiator shops still in southern California.

Man what I really miss is the days when Modine was in Merced Ca. I used to be able to order custom cores and receive them the next day. I could specify the number of rows of tubes, size of the tubes, staggered or inline placement, how many “dead” rows at the end and more. Then on fins I could specify the number of fins per inch, weather or not the fins were louvered and more. The trick was to come up with a design that would cool adequately but not plug up with debris too fast in a D8 pushing trash in the landfill or a trash truck.
