Besides a few hundred spotwelds. This patch is doneeeee

I beat it up on the planishing hammer to get all the acorns out that I created with the rough shaping process. (Hit metal with hammer till desired shape is attained). and make the metal go the way I needed it to up by the headlight.

Got my truetrac.
Stuff doesn't always look like the pictures. I would rather the giant chunk of iron on the left.

Yes. That would be sick we could bang out projects all day.!
Love that hammer. I want an English wheel but I don't want a harbor freight one.
I have an ancient Pexto brake but its meant for furnace ductwork. Very limited on how far I can push a piece into it bc it has an enclosed end. Not like a normal brake where u can shove a whole sheet through.
Love my shrinker/stretcher. They are harbor freight. And I have the harbor freight flange/bead roller
I also have the east wood leather bag with teardrop hammer.
And the crown jewel. My actual "Beverly no.3" shear.

Here's my dad taking a few whacks

Got my gears and 9" carrier finally. A buddy let me pop one out of a 86 f100.
The gears do not have me excited. 2.75.
I'm thinking I would be happier with 3.25s.
Do I save some money and use the gears or drop the $100 on a set of the gears I want on eBay?
I can do the math sure but I still don't kkow exactly what I'll be happy with so I may just run these to get an idea of how the car performs

i say stick with the taller gear.
its not a race car, and if thats your intended use go shorter!
2.75's on the freeway will be nice.
not to mention better smoke shows.
ouch on that carrier bearing race.

Passenger side fender has some damage that was hiding under filler.

I spent quite some time ironing out the wrinkles.
A little more shrinking here an stretching there and I think it will be ok.
I did find one in Cali for $100. Just dents no rust. But I think I'll just fix mine.

Also got the rear together some. I'm waiting on bearings and seals.
Ordered on rockauto. Found a nice yoke on eBay.

Harbor freight planishing hammer works nice.

So that thing is basically a frame you fit an air hammer into? That's a pretty neat idea. Foot pedal trigger is a plus. Never used one. You guys have all the neat toys.

I would be very interested in what you think of your Harbor Freight Planishing Hammer. I have used several more "heavy duty" planishing hammers and want to see what you think. :)

Yes. And it full of sand.
Keep in mind this is a low low buck model. There's are some guys on youtube that will blow your mind with actual planishing hammers

Look up Lazze, Ron Covell and Tinmantech

I really like mine but I'm just a hobbyist.

Here's a piece I did with it for my dad's 63 merc

I wish I could help you more but this is the only one I've ever used. I really like it. But I have nothing to compare it to.

OK, Thanks. I have used bigger planish hammers also. Just trying to see if they are even close to the real ones. Looks like it gets the job done and nicely!
