Just went thru that build thread. Great work as always. I also agree with what the other folks said there about how your projects provide inspirations for the rest of us to get off our butts and accomplish something productive :D

You really need a 31-spline 9" rear, that 6BT will twist that 8" like a pretzel.

Funny story. Apparently I'm not as familiar with ford rears as I thought.
I bought it thinking it was a 9". Then my buddy identified it.
It's already the perfect width and I talked
to some ppl who put some power to them.
I was hoping a stock rotary pump 12v bolted to an auto trans with normal car tires wouldn't push the 8" too far.
So I am kinda torn on whether to run it or not. If I can find a deal on a 9 I'll definitely jump on it

Is this one getting aftercooled like the F350?

I was wondering that myself. Doesn't seem necessary. But it wouldn't be bad to do. Ide have to use one of those coolers where both intake and exit are on the same side

Disassembled engine for regasket. Bummer.
Bottom end is clean as a whistle. Just got some moisture up top. The shop I had it stored in was notorious for taking on water and being damp. But I had no where else to keep stuff at the time.
It's not as bad as it looks. That's all tranny fluid I dumped in there so I could hit the rust with a scuff pad.
I'll have it hot tanked and go from there.
