Went to put my truck in 4wd today but couldn't get it to budge, tried going in reverse and forward and locking and unlocking my hubs but would not move. A month or two ago had a little fender bender up front rattled some things around a bit, maybe this could have locked up 4wd i am not sure any suggestions out there to what could be going on? or if this has happened to any one else.

These are SOTF-capable, should at least move between 2wd and 4x4 high range. Hitting neutral and low range requires pushing down on the shifter which likely won't happen, but if it's also seized in place and cannot be slid into 4hi that means the pivot is stuck something fierce. If that is the case, removal for rebuild and mods just got that much more interesting, and not in a good way. May wanna start looking for a replacement shifter in case this one gets destroyed during the removal process.

Had the one on my half ton seize up. I freed it up with some WD and just working it back and forth little at a time. Might be worth a shot.

Mine seized to the left. The motion the lever needs to move is more of a arc to the left and down toward your leg. When mine locked to the side I could engage any 4wd mode without pulling it over. But I started to have problems with it popping out of low range. That's when I realized what the problem was, it's a easy fix. You just crawl under and take the shifter off, put it in a vise and take it apart and loosen it up. Once you lube it up it should last another 10 years or so before it needs it again.

Sounds like you got a different shifter tho, 88-91 truck? Yours move like the one on the transmission, front-back to select mode and range and left-right to clear the safety gates preventing you from sliding from 2wd right into neutral or 4x4 low range. The OP has the next gen shifter, that also moves front-back like yours, but to clear the gates you gotta push the SOB down on the shaft. It's the dumbest idea ever IMHO, you're supposed to push down while at the same time pulling back which depending on your height very well may end up pulling up also. And the abortion is also aluminum bodied, so the moment it sees moisture under the boots corrosion sets in which usually locks the up-down motion of it thus allowing you only 2wd and 4x4 high range. The OP has a more extreme case where it seems like even his pivot is seized up - if that were to happen to you you can heat yours up with a torch and it will melt the plastic bushing but it will free up, in his case he can easily melt the whole works if he gets a bit carried away with an oxy-acetylene setup. And yeah, what you got is better in any way I can think of, why Ford ever switch to that newer POS never quite made sense to me :D

Yes, I have the earlier one, didn't know they changed it. Thanks.

So where should i use the WD?, underneath the truck or remove the boot in the cab and spray there, maybe both?.
