I have an early 80s f-350 loaded up to go to the scrapper and just realized the dually rearend is a 3.73. I am thinking about saving the rear axle but am not sure it is worth the effort. The brakes are frozen so it will need going through completely. how easy are these things to come by?

Is it a Dana 70HD with left handed threads on one side? If so I think the one I got is the same. I have tried to do the calculations on mine but I was assuming that it had to be 3.55 or 4.10 but it was right in between the two. That would explain why my numbers where confusing!

No left hand threads, but it is a Dana. I am thinking this morning that its probably not worth the effort to pull. At $14 per hundred I'd rather have the money in my pocket than have another project laying around.
