I was hoping they'd make it until the weekend, but no. Driver side front caliper just went. Hyper-extended piston from severely worn pads popped a hole in the dust seal. So now I am doing an impromptu brake job, are these calipers as easy to rebuild as ones from smaller cars? Just asking to save a few bucks, since it isn't payday til tomorrow.

Why would you take a chance on rebuilding when you can get one already rebuilt for less than $50

I'm on board with the above posting. They are a simple dust seal and one square o-ring. But you really need to look closely at the piston. If it has any pits in it then its junk. These 2wd brake parts are really cheap for what they are.

I agree with the above postings. From what I've seen by the time the caliper is almost done with life the piston is pretty far gone, especially if it's a glass filled nylon (phenolic) piston. The steel ones get pretty bad too.

Definately look into just replacing the whole assembly.
