This is all on my brothers 93 f350 with the banks turbo.

Earlier I was cleaning out my truck when my brother started his truck it made sorta a pop noise then immediately started leaking coolant.

Maybe a few weeks or month after we put that engine in (from my 88) it was using some coolant. But it was leaking around the cap neck, so I soldered it good. Then it was still using coolant, but we hadn't tracked down the culprit yet.

One thing to note is the coolant always seemed to be foamy.
It didn't die, I had him shut it down right when I saw the coolant.
And it's been ran with the pink fleetcharge since the engine went in.

It was dark so I couldn't really see where the coolant was actually coming from, but seemed to be rear left (drivers side) of block.

Slowly day by day it'll be torn down to see the problem.
If the engine is toast, you will be seeing a swap thread. Not just R&R.
If it's just the headgasket, it'll be replaced with the addition of studs.

He likes my PSD (As I do also LOL) so that's first engine choice. (Bolt in affair and I know I could do the swap pretty quickly)
If one of them C word engines is found cheap, it'll happen. :gasp
Not to sure about the dt route.
It'll need to be up ASAP, as that's his DD.

Was it a leak or a flood of coolant? A leak from the driver's side may be something as simple as a failed lower radiator hose. A flood of coolant could be a bad freeze plug or worse....... a hole in the block. If it was leaking coolant into one of the cylinders, then it could have bend a rod and windowed the block.

Let us know what you guys find.

Really sad to hear of this but I sure hope its a simple repair and not a ruined block. Please keep us informed and take pics. We all love looking at pics be they be good or bad pics of a ruined part..

Not a hose. It was a real good pour.
Hoping it's just a head gasket or even freeze plug.
No oil came out with the coolant.

Got a thread to start in another section that I need some help with.

foamy coolant in an idi.... interesting..not sure what would need to fail to get the foam...

Which is strange, cause it's done it since the fleetcharge (or whatever the hell it's called) went it.

He messed with it earlier. But I just now got home from work, so I'll find out in the morning if he found anything.

Didn't really get anything done on it today.

There's no hole in the block that I can see. But it's definitely blowing out somewhere.
Seems to almost be between the head and block. So I'm guessing the headgasket blew. Hopefully it didn't block a hole through the deck surface.
Anyone ever seen anything like that?
