I have a 2004 6.0 PSD thats burning coolant under load. Lots of white smoke and sweet smell. Cant see anyhing at idle, only under power. We are in a bind right now with the truck. Its a plow truck and snow is coming tomorrow. Other than head gaskets, which I "think" I have ruled out, what are some of the other common places for it to get in?

I didnt see any coolant in the oil.

We have three trucks with issues right now, and I am under the gun. Any help would be appreciated.

It is probably a bad EGR cooler. Pull the EGR valve annd see if it is gooey in the intake. You probably need a oil cooler too.

I just went through this. I replaced the oil cooler, egr cooler, egr valve (4th time) and the fan clutch at 215,000 miles; in September 2010. Drove it 16,000 miles and blew the head gasket yesterday. ****. Shopping a new pick-up as we speak. I have 231,000 miles on my engine. Brace yourself for what's next.
