I like the fold down seat. What kind of doing did it exactly take to do that. I think I might like to do the same as I may be sleeping in my pickup while I'm working in the near future.

The high idle solenoid is located on top of and at the front of the injection pump. I has a one wire 12v power control from the engine harness. If you want to modify it for manual high idle control all you need to do is replace the engine harness control wire with a fused 12v control wire that you control with a toggle switch in the cab. It's a quite simple modification. My brother welds in the oil field in North Dakota and sleeps in his pickup often and has to leave it idling a lot in the winter, but he now has one of those little Honda 2000w generators that are becoming very common. You see them everywhere now. He's setting his pickup up so that he can run his generator outside on the bed and run a little heater in the cab, the block heater, and the oil pan heater on the engine. This way he can save diesel, save engine hours, and cut down on the engine noise when he's trying to sleep. I don't know if you carry power generation with you though. If you do have a generator I think that's a good alternative to idling. If you're going to idle at night I would definitely do the high idle mod.

Cutting latches for storage boxes. I hate working with Diamond plate.

I like the Honda 2000 idea. I have a good spot for one. That would be perfect.

My brother got one for prep work he does on welding jobs so that he didn't need to always be running his welder to run grinders and so on. He really likes it and says he uses it even more that he thought he would and is really fuel efficient. They look like a good little deal to me. I may get one too eventually.

Honda also has those quiet series.
I would mount it somewhere that it can't be stolen.
Isolate it with some rubber mounts.

I replaced my glow plug control unit tonight. When I turn the key to the on position the unit just clicks. Click, click, click, click and the volt meter bounces back and forth. What's the deal?

I will finish up these other projects this week. I am building Long Travel suspension for my Kawasaki Teryx4 right now. To many projects and not enough time.

Is there a way to test everything? Glow plugs, controller and relay?

Group 31's seem to be popular.
Thats what I plan to get. Gonna use a semi battery box and mount them on the frame, til I get under bed toolboxes built.

Ok, no worries. I thought there was a law. I looked at the CHP page but most of the info is about tanker trucks. My rear bumper/tire carrier will protect the gas cans. I can't live life in a "what if" mentality.
