hey again,

my best friend is toying with the idea of putting a 7.3 idi turbo in his 1990 5speed bronco.

Since he has a complete opposite schedule as i do most of it will be on his own. Is this a hard swap? What will he run into?

It's a no-brainer. Hardest part is just cutting out the old motor mounts that are riveted on. I torched em so it was easy. Drill a few holes for the diesel motor mount plates, and drop in the F series running gear. How you wish to deal with wiring up the guages and what not is up to you. Factory axles work fine. Replace the frame mounted factory fuel pump with a Holley Red, and get rid of the mechanical pump on the IDI. Upgrade the front clip to include the diesel rad and your all set. When you read those posts on FSB, it's pretty clear those guys all have short memories.
