A few years ago I was reading about big rig bypass oil filters that used a roll of plain old paper towels. I can't recall the name of that filter either. Seemed like a good idea kinda like the Frantz bypass filters usig a roll od toilet paper. For those that don't understand how the Frantz filter works its like this. First the paper is installed with the cardboard rol in the center. Then you place it in the filter. Now the bypass oil enters that center area. Flows up and over the end of the exposed paper roll. There it soaks down thru the roll and out the bottom and back into the engine oil pan. I saw one at a county fair about 40 years ago being deminstrated. I'm sure the oil had been contaminated with something that was easy to clean out. But that oil was black on on side of the filter and golden brown on the other side...
