1356 T Case Material

Is the entire case on these magnesium, or just the rear section? I'm finding conflicting info. Is the extension housing piece (slip yoke style) Al or Mg?

Any idea what alloy?

Well, there is mix n match to this, here is what I understand to be true, anyone know different please correct me, all slip yoke F250 and lower are all magnesium. The rear portion on a fixed yoke is Aluminum IIRC though not 100% on that...

The biggest and coolest bad ass is the F350 with PTO option, that front half is aluminum and rear portion mag!

Ok, that would explain why I was getting different info.

Was looking into welding in a tapped fitting for a temp gauge. Guess we're going to have to go with plan B.
