03 PSD in Brick nose?

I have a 88 F250 with an IDI and a ZF5. I have a line on a 03 EVan with a 7.3 and automatic. Im no stranger to engine swaps or mechanical work. As far as electrics, is it possible to do the swap with a donor truck? Does the ECM use and security for say the key? Could I use the ZF5 on the powerstroke? Im mostly worried about how possible it is to get running with all the electrics compared the the IDI. Is there a stand alone harness for the PSD?

There is a "standalone" harness. But it's for the T444E.
The Swap can be done.
I wanna say there was a slight change in mounting depth for the trans, but it should work.
Can't say on the security. Just depends what the van came with.
It can be done. You'll need all the wiring and such.

first off, you have a Brick nose 87-91, not the OBS 92-97
you do have your work cut out for you.
i 1/2 built a 89 F350 that was a 460/e4od
put a PSD 7.3 w/ ZF5

wiring: i looked and looked for a stand alone wiring harness, ron francis, painless, EZ, and a few other places.
i opted to put the entire wiring harness in it.
yes your van harness will work.
may not as be as "plug and play" as the swap i did as i changed to an OBS dash in the brick nose.

your turbo will not fit without firewall modification

the engine and transmission both dropped right in after i preped it for diesel.

idi and psd both mount the same exact way.

Thanks guys. I'm sure I can thin the engine harness. I guess I need to look into tuning software to delete out the auto trans. Also since the truck is very barebones with out A/C I dont feel like I'd have too many hiccups. Also firewall modifications arent a big deal, but could I use turbo and up pipes from a Gen 1 PSD from a truck?

i wouldnt.
reason 1, bellowed up pipes are mucho dinero for the GP38.
reason 2, i have not found a EPBV delete pedestal for the pre 99's
reason 3, GTP-38's are a hell of alot easier to install.
and cheaper up pipes.

Well you don't need to do anything about the tuning for the auto. It'll run completely fine. If you wish you can just swap in a manual pcm.
Obs turbo and up pipes will work, you'll need everything. Even the exhaust manifolds are different. At least one of them is.
But basically don't do it. It's be a downgrade. Keep the SD turbo.
Oh wait, the E-Series ran slightly different turbos. I can't remember the exact differences. But I'd still keep the one on it.

Probably. Lol
I wanna say not all vans had intercoolers. They for sure had the 1.15 exhaust housing instead of the normal .84
