OK, so I made it to deer camp and my cousin showed up with his D'max smoking to beat the band. It appears that he has a malfunctioning injector. No one in the area works on diesels. Wondering if he can run it for the week up here at camp and then 100 miles back home. Keep an eye on the oil level? Any chance of hydrolock on startup?

I guess it's my week for diesel problems...

Thanks,

LM

i would not. it is an lb7, they aren notorious for injectors failing and filling the crankcase. if possible i would not drive it, tow it if possible back home. also being an 01, the extended warranty is up for the injectors unless he has very low miles. the dealership might help then. call dealership and see if injectors have ever been done.

Thanks for the reply..

He has 208K miles and had the injectors done under warranty at 100K. He ended up having someone fix it for $4000. Personally, I would not own a D'max if it were to cost me $4000-$6000 every 100K miles for injectors...That is insane and in my eyes no real value at all.:dunno
